Water Pollution-is there anything we can do?

There are several types of water pollution. We tend to think of the more popular ones such as global warming and oil pollution, but those are just a few of the major causes for water pollution. It is important to know the causes of water pollution so that we can find appropriate solutions these are some of the water problems we tend not to hear about. Water is in finite supply and we need to start address the problems immediately to ensure the well being of the planet.

Eutrophication is when fertilizer from farms leak into nearby water causing the water to be contaminated because most fertilizer is made from animal waste.
Possible solution is we can do is, to have farmers use fertilizer a certain distance away from the water to prevent contamination.

Another problem is Marine dumping, it is caused when litter gets into our water systems and harms marine life for example a 6-pack ring which is used to hold soda, can get caught on marine animals and can cause death also different items of litter can take up to 400 hundred years or even more to disintegrate and can release chemicals that also pollute water. Possible solution is we can start having laws that prevent people/companies from littering water.

Industrial waste, many industries use fresh water to carry away waste from the plant into rivers, lakes and oceans. This pollutes are water which harm the marine animals and ourselves possible solution is to have companies to try and find another way to dispose of there waste.

Hopefully we can all try to stop the increasing amount of polluted water.
