What does water mean to us? To many. Not much. We take for granted the simply act of turning on a tap, or taking a shower, even pouring ourselves a glass of water. Many people don’t have this luxury, many people have to drink dirty water that comes from sewers and drain pipes, people even in our own country, maybe even province have to resort to drinking whatever “form” of water they can. I say form, because who knows what’s in that water? The percent of actual healthy water in it is minimal to the amount of contaminates that cultivate in the water. Beside that point, many people are questioning the water crisis, how can you question something that has been laid out in front of you plain and simply! We are running out of clean, healthy water! Water is a natural resource that no one really notices, or pays attention to. Toxin’s in our water are killing people, spreading cancers, creating illnesses, and even causing developmental delays in children and teens. Does it have to come down to illnesses and death for people to pay attention? It’s going to be a huge wake up call to doubters when they realize what’s happening. What happens when we run out of the clean resource that we NEED to survive? This of course, will not be in our time, but what happens to the future generations? Our world is slowly going to fall apart, we abuse things just because they’re there, because they’re just handed to use. I think it’s time people realize, you can’t take advantage of everything. Why should water be a different story?

I completely agree. We as people don’t realize that our water supply is getting, to be more & more scarce. There has to be things that we can do to help prevent all of this. No one will care until it starts happening to them, society is selfish & doesn’t care about the big issues, until they start affecting them, I Like how you said that people are questioning the crisis & the facts are sitting in front of them, because it’s so true. It’s the simple things that we could do to help our situation. We aren’t the only ones who are affected by this, which makes it worse because the other things affected, can’t help themselves, such as – animals. When there is an Oil Spill, or when they drink contaminated water.. there is no one there telling them not to drink the water – or stay away from the oil. Whereas in we have plenty of people, newspapers, websites etc. telling us to do something but we’re just sitting around doing nothing. Point is, we’re not defenseless against all of this, Like the animals are & we NEED to do something.

I also agree. So many people hear something about a water crisis and dismiss it, as if it has no effect on them. It unfortunate that they are not easily convinced of the problems we encounter every day.
They question the amount of pollution going into the water, claiming that they see clear blue water on their way to work everyday, and that they see it on TV all the time when fancy resorts offer deals for vacation.
What they do not notice is that every time it rains, swirls of colorful liquids build up and mix into puddles. Those beautiful swirls are not your friend. They are gasoline, oil, a chemical ridden mini tornado's with a target: major water ways; oceans, lakes, and rivers.
We should all be making an effort to raise awareness of the current water situation, and not be brushing it off because we are too high and mighty to suffer with every one else.

I think when people hear that people are getting ill from contaminated water they shy away from the subject, almost like they want to believe its not happening.
We should all try to make this topic known because a lot of people are unaware this is happening and if we don't start finding ways to consume our water properly there wont be any left for future generations, unless we find another substitute which is highly doubtful then there will be no more water left and it will be like we will have to start all over again.
