Water. A resources we often over look. We believe its always going to be there at our disposal. We may have to take a step back and look at how were hurting our environment. Every thing we do has an effect. Something like leaving the tap going when brushing our teeth. Or pouring household chemicals down the kitchen sink. This present generation maybe waters worst nightmare. We over use and now are looking at selling what we do have left. There is a huge commercial industry for water. That has economic benefits. But does the benefits out number the effects? What is the price we are truly willing to sell water at? Do we need to at the price is will have on the environment? There is no point to have a prosperous economy if we have a polluted environment. The environment should be a worry to all. Not a second thought. This has to be remembered. The water issue may not seem big to many. Some might not even know there is one. However the earth is like our bodies. Were both made out of 75% water. But that’s were our similarities end. As humans when we get sick, doctors come to our rescue and make us better before the problem gets out of hand. But who’s going to come to the waters help? It’s already sick and dirty, yet we are turning our backs on it? Were waters worst nightmare. But we may be able to become its hero.

To answer your title and post, I do believe that we can be a hero and see the change that we need to see. But as on single teenager we can’t change the whole world’s views. We can start something like an awareness group which over time we`ll gain a few people. We can be a hero like Superman, or Spider-man because they help people (without the laser vision). Do the benefits outnumber the effects of bottling water? Yes, it is true that there is more evidence to prove the effects of bottling water than benefits. I don’t think we need a price for water which is given to all humans. By putting a price on something we all share, isn’t fare for others. Did you know that we’re poisoning the ocean with hundreds of millions of tons of plastic and not only that but also; as little as little 10% of plastic bottles, 10% of are recycled plastic bottles are recycled. Well, the rest end up in landfills or in our oceans. Isn’t that crazy.

i totally agree with sadie. many people should realize that water is not always going to be there for us when we need it in the future. its not always going to be a constant source and we could eventually run out. i dont find it fair personally, that we are now making a buisness out of water. some people cant afford water and water is a natural thing that the human body needs to live and function. is it fair if the wealthy pay and the poor pay? in my opinion no, because we dont need to pay for a neccesary need in life. but we do need to make a change in saving water. because if we waste our water we obviously will run out. we cant loose water because we will all die. so we need to make a change in the future and work together to help save this enviornment.
we have been given water for a reason, well many different reasons. so we need to respect that gift. and as sadie said, we should not put paint down the drain and many other chemicals but we are harming the water supply and also the enviornment. we should stop while we are ahead, and try to save our water so we wont have to have back up plans, and stop paying for water -kailina hennink

I agree with Sadie’s post, have you ever thought of water as more then something to drink? It’s something we depend on, and us as humans would die without it. We take into granted about how much water we have on our earth. You’d think there is plenty enough for everyone... but no, 97% of water in the world is salty and undrinkable. That doesn’t leave us with much to live on. We know this is happening to other countries but over look the problem because it’s not happening to us, but one day it will and then what will we do? My opinion is that people are greedy when it comes to water and how much they use everything day without serious need. Also just like Sadie said, we don’t look after our water supply either never, thinking twice about how badly we are polluting our own drinking water when pouring household chemicals down the sink. Or when we let the water run longer then needed when taking a shower, brushing teeth etc. Really if you think about it, we are the main reason our water is so polluted and why we are running out so fast so suddenly. We are the ones throwing deadly wastes into rivers, tossing unwanted objects like bikes and tires into lakes thinking that it won’t harm anything. If we want to take action against pollution we need to start with thinking twice about every day choices when it comes to the substance that keeps us alive.
